Weblog - A Girlie Thing?
An American research concluded that girls present a greater participation in blogs, while boys prefer to the videos in YouTube. In agreement with the taken study for the project of Pew Internet & American Life Project, almost 35% of girls prefer to create and to correct blogs. Between the boys, only 20% had given preference to this activity when they are connected. Still according to this investigation, 54% of girls post photos, whereas only 40% of the boys do it. In YouTube, nevertheless, boys go away in ahead: 19% of them post videos in the site. Already, between girls, this index is in 10%. Also, investigation had indicated the bud and the fortification of a sub-group of adolescents that already represents 30% of the American young population. The baptism like “wonderful signallers”, this sub-group of young people is formed in its majority by older girls. These adolescents characterizes to use diverse averages - like cellular, the E-mails and messages SMS - to be in contact with the people. Studies had stated in addition that young people are proactive in Internet: 64% of which they have between 12 and 17 years had uses to create a certain type of content in the Internet and 75% of them had declared to interact reciprocally with the posted content, photos, videos or commentaries in blogs. Other data from the same investigation indicate that young people are also worried in sharing the content that publishe in the network. Almost the half of the researched adolescents had said that photos are posted in sites where others can see them and 89% of them had affirmed that comment in sites of photos with a certain frequency. In our country, a pool realized in our website Monografias Prontas Alpha , determined that girls use social relation websites and blogs 78% more than boys, particularly in the range of 14 - 20 years. Reflection of these peculiarities in relation to potential use of Internet by young people according to gender has deep impact in the possibilities of use of Web for educational projects. Thus, about the tabulation of educational models on Web, it is not possible to forgot these special characteristics of students. In the same way, we can detect here a strong suggestion of subject for monographs and essays: the differential impact of student’s gender for formulation of educational proposals for Web. This subject can be divided in many others, in agreement with the niche of Web to be investigated in the essay.
